Soccer also known as futbol, is an iconic sport which has deep history and culture. For some its a competitive sport or a hobby, but for a few athletes like Sebastian Velasquez its LIFE. Grand Forte is bringing Pro Major League Soccer player, Sebastian Velasquez on our Roster! This guy made his mark with fame with the goal against the Prestige club, LA Galaxy back in early 2012!

Sebastian’s back story from a kid that lived in the rough streets of Colombia with the opportunity to come into America with a Big Dream to one day play in the Professional League. Well just last year he achieved his dreams and made it happen. Sebastian’s craft is incredible!!! He is so quick on the field… one player that is very entertaining to see on the pitch!

During the week Co-Founder Taj Singh from Grand Forte and Andy Le took a visit to a new store the Official Urban Outlet in Salt Lake City where Grand Forte looks to drop the line into. The store is planning their Grand Opening on February 16th at 3695 S. Redwood Rd., West Valley City Utah 84119.

If you are in the Utah area come take a visit and be mesmerized by the architecture of this place. Its innovative and complements the street culture at its best! Grand Forte couldn’t be more proud to be a partner with Official Urban Outlet. I’ll keep you posted on the updates.

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

If you haven’t heard yet, Creator Chris Le has jumped into the film Industry, adding to his huge arsenal of creative endeavors. With his first feature film “Zombie Hunter”, he took on as Executive and Visual Effects Producer; there is no doubt this movie will have his epic stylized look to it. Him and his team have already been putting the movie together for the world to see this year! Be on the lookout for the premiere of the official trailer, that should be out in a week. The cast of the movie consists of Danny Trejo, playing as father Jesus. Australian actor Martin Copping, playing as the Hunter… and Clare Niederpruem plays as sweet Alison. Check out my next blog as I go on set and interview the three for a Grand Forte exclusive interview.

Synopsis: “Zombie Hunter follows the vengeful HUNTER in his journey through the post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested wasteland. Killing in the name of the family he lost, he teams up with a group of survivors and face the deadly mutations that challenge their survival.”

The official Zombie Hunter car for the Hunter. The car was put together by talented craftsman and my future dad, Rich Hipwell. It was sad but pretty cool to see the car do its epic flip scene for the movie.

Me and Andy Le‘s company LeTucker were able to provide all the still contents for the movie. We had our outdoor Studio setup on one of the days photographing all the content for the official movie poster.

The film was a lot of work for the crew, all the thanks goes out to everyone that made it happen… But we have to give all the props to Director Kevin King and Chris Le in making the movie come together.

So be on the lookout for the official trailer coming out in a week and my next blog as I interview the three talents of the movie… you guys are going to flipout when it comes out… literally.

Yes, our spring drop is going to drop soon. We have not dropped much because we were busy shooting films all throughout 2012, but this, we dropping.

And like before, as we get closer to the release date, we will be leaking new gear.

Aging to Perfection

Grand Forte celebrated two birthdays within the week. Creator Chris Le‘s dad Andy Le and yours truly (Dave Tucker). It was only 2 weeks ago that I finally had the ambition to make my first batch of Cupcakes in my entire life. It was all due to me and one of my kids chilling at the baking goods isle trying to find something good to make. After 20 minutes of convincing by my son, I went for it… and well, my kids and family are alive after eating them, so I think I made them right… It turned out to be a good time. So you know I had to make a batch for Andy Le‘s 50th Birthday!

We had a handful of friends come by and celebrate as Andy blew out his candles. I wonder if his wish was, “To get that killer Mohawk he had once a upon a time.” Either way this man deserves what ever he wishes for. I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of this guys life. It was only just the last year that me and Andy set forth to do a collaboration in our photography that some of you might know, Le Tucker. Not only has it been a joy to go in business with the man, but its my honor to be a close friend and part of the family. There isn’t a time where we go out that this guy gets so much respect and recognition in our community. I can probably speak for a lot of people out there, but if you are ever around Andy; he doesn’t hesitate to poor his positive outlook on life on you. His so motivating and you can’t ever not laugh at his ongoing slapstick humor.

Andy has taught me a lot… but there is one thing I still want to know, “What the heck does he feed his kids?”. His breeded two of the most talented dudes I know to date.

Ending the night we had a good little laugh over Chris Le‘s fortune cookie that said, “Could I get some directions? (To where) To you heart.” I didn’t realize there are pickup lines now in them. However I did agree with Chris saying, “If you were on a date and you had this to fall back on at the end… epic closing to that date!”

To celebrate my birthday after hitting that Gallery I mentioned in my last blog, Chris Le decided to take me and our little crew out for my birthday VIP style, at Club Hotel in Downtown Salt Lake City. The apple does not fall from the tree, just like his Dad the whole night Chris was getting a lot of love and respect by everybody in the VIP. Below are pics that Party Utah put together that was shot all by Prum Ty!

It was a full house down in the Crowd… Great atmosphere!

On the spur of the moment I had a chance to take friend and Creator of Grand Forte Chris Le and my lady Courtnie Von to an Art Gallery for Lifestyle and action sports photographer Nate Christenson. If you’ve seen the famous First Double Back Flip picture on a dirtbike by Travis Pastrana, then you’ve seen this mans work. As a fellow photographer I respected his arsenal of accounts. Nate has even worked for DC Shoes photographing motocross, snowboarding, BMX and Rally racing. He has been in countless snowboarding magazine covers like Freerun, Snowboarder, Snowboard, and Transworld Snowboarding. With his load of big name clients his been able to photograph some of the biggest names in action sports and music, his Collection was very enjoyable to see. So Mr. Nate Christenson I Salute You!

As Chris and I were checking out more of the Gallery we ran into his old friends, film makers Mike Eldrige and JMills. We got a chance to spend sometime in there studio which was ironically attached next to the gallery. The fellas gave us a quick tour of there production studio and the three got a chance to catch up on old times and talk about each others brands… it was great to see so much talent in a room collaborating and uniting. I recommend checking out there work, I was a fan of there Action Sports and Commercial work.

The Event was a full house just minutes after entering. To keep the energy alive for the big crowd, music was poppin by Ria. The gallery turned out too be a fun time and very inspiring… maybe inspiring enough for a Chris Le / LE Tucker collaboration gallery? Maybe? Maybe you’ll just have to wait and see!

We Work to Play

So what does one of our own designers Ryan McCardle a.k.a. Ryno do after designing up some concept art for Grand Forte? Well the man dances of course, it goes to show where his creative roots and inspiration come from. Every time I’ve been around Ryan I don’t think there is one minute where he isn’t dancing, this guy is always entertaining. He brings such an awesome energy to Grand Forte and tremendous talent, so ladies and gents I give you Ryno; enjoy!

Rep the Pin

In today’s society a simple Pin or some call a stamp is used as symbols of achievement and belonging in different organizations and lifestyles. It even gives a since of membership and Credo in all cultures from all over the world. It has become a hobby to even collect the Pins. Whatever the reason you wear one, we hope by representing an original Grand Forte Pin; it gives you a sense of your own positive symbol. Wear them with pride and we hope it gives you the feeling of our own Credo, “Always for the Skilled”.
